Microsoft Buy SwiftKey, maker Virtual Keyboard Android and iOS


GadgetXp.com - Mircosoft indeed disadvantaged in the hardware business peddling his own OS Windows Mobile 10. But the original United States software giant it looked more seriously exploring the mobile software business. Microsoft is known to have already launched their own applications on Android and iOS, and it is now increased by one more portfolio by buying virtual keyboard SwiftKey, makers of Android and iOS. Currently, Swiftkey is mounted approximately 300 million devices (Android and iOS).According to The Financial Times, Microsoft have to spend US $250 million to acquire SwiftKey. Reportedly, the deal was to be announced formally later this week.

Microsoft already has the keyboard application (Word Flow) used in Windows Phone devices, and will soon be released on iOS and Android. Clearly the acquisition of SwiftKey will help Microsoft improve the competitiveness of the virtual keyboard.However, it is the intention of Microsoft buying SwiftKey possibility for artificial intelligence technology, rather than just the Keyboard application. SwiftKey relies on artificial intelligence to learn how users are typing on their mobile devices, so it is able to predict which words will be written.

Until 2014, SwiftKey Keyboard is a paid application. Now Swiftkey offers in-apppurchase, which allows users to buy the theme and other personal content. SwiftKey also developed the launcher Android, though it has failed to gain popularity, not as popular as the maker of the virtual keyboard.
