Sony: Dual Camera Will Be Widely Used

GadgetXp.com - Does Sony just confirmed the rumors about Apple that uses dual camera on iPhone 7 Plus? Apple has been using Sony technology to its iSight camera. Today, original Japan Electronics giant said that the large smartphone manufacturers will use a dual-lens technology in the next year.

In addition, Yoshida added it will not happen until may 2017 before dual-cameras began appearing on high-end handsets. However, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a pretty good track record regarding Apple, recently said that a dual lens camera in the back of the iPhone 7 Plus will be used for the optical zoom.

Sony's CFO Kenichiro Yoshida made the statement, adding that the demand for dual-lens technology may be negatively affected in 2016 because of a slow down in the high-end smartphone market.

Apple has a history of adding premium features for the camera back on the iPhone Plus. For example, Apple iPhone 6 Plus and Apple iPhone Plus 6s both have OpticalI maging feature Stabilization. This feature prevents images photos or video of the wobble. OIS is not used on the Apple iPhone
6 or Apple iPhone 6s.
